STORIES

B.E.S.T. Service Dogs puppy "Charlie" was recently featured in Happy Pets Magazine and in the Gretna Breeze newspaper in Nebraska. Charlie is a 4 year old Labrador who is paired with her boy and family. Charlie's boy Cade was diagnosed with autism when he was 3 years old. Charlie is one of a litter of 10 Labrador puppies from B.E.S.T. Service Dogs. When Charlie and Cade were paired in 2016 and they have been inseparable ever since. Charlie provides many services for Cade such as reduction of sensory overload, deep pressure and redirecting of focus. She also serves as a social bridge for the family. Where they once might have felt stress, Charlie makes all the family's life better. Cade's mom says, "I don't think people realize how dramatically these dogs can change your life!"

No matter what I read in the news or what is going on in the world, I choose to believe that the world is kind and that people are good. Being e-connected to Jan Murry Lopez, the President and Founder of B.E.S.T. Service Dogs in Carmichael, California reinforced that belief. Without further ado, allow me to introduce her amazing group.

1-ON-1 WITH B.E.S.T. SERVICE DOGS CEO
April 24, 2019
After 20 years of raising Labradors, I am so excited to be a part of changing peoples lives with these gentle and sensitive souls. As we engage in supporting autism partners and our nation's veterans, we also look to our community to see where we can be of help. By providing training or therapy, information and education on dogs and service, we believe that we are part of creating the independence needed for a better more inclusive life.  As one recipient of one of our dogs says "our dog has changed all of our lives in ways we never thought possible!... And I love being able to go places confidently and see our son happy and calm because his dog is by his side".
