Well, to start off Woofstock was a blast from the past! So much fun seeing people dressed up in their 60's garb and it gave a very relaxed atmosphere to what can be a stressful or super serious dog show. So many dogs! It really is quite the dog lover's paradise, these all breed shows!
I was talking to some new friends, and I almost missed Tucker's "Bred by Exhibitor" class! I had to wait at the side of the ring to see if the judge would let us in to compete! A first for me! Well, it seems everything about dog shows is a first for me. We did well, ran around the ring, but Tucker didn't get a ribbon. He was the only yellow dog in his class and was undersized in comparison to these giant Labradors that show. He looks perfect to me! Raven was in her first competition and got a 4th place out of 4, but the judge said all the pups were good and the decision a hard one.

Today we had a training day at home as it's been so hot out. I have to train each dog or the others feel left out. It's really a big deal. So I start with the youngest and go to the oldest. I have to do one at a time. Waiting for your turn is SO HARD. there is FOOD involved!
I really need to set up a video stream of this because not only is it hilarious, you can really see how each dog learns and how different they are. I will buy one of those phone tripods and see what I can record. The winner of most enthusiastic is Tucker. He almost jumps out of his skin and can hardly settle down. The most hilarious is Sophie. Of course. She is so excited to do tricks for food, she offers every thing she's ever learned before I ask. She will be 9 this year and she acts like a nut! When I asked her to go get a toy and bring it to me, she ran to the stuffed toy, shook it like she was killing it then threw it across the room, then ran to me for a treat! over and over and never bringing me the toy until the very end and then just the one time. That poor stuffed toy was shaken within an inch of its life! All and all the training was good, and we need to practice more (my fault), but they are all making progress. Hopefully a video to follow soon.
