Sophie Finds a Friend (Book)

 
This book stars “Sophie" a small, round, fat, yellow Labrador puppy as she goes through an adventure where she discovers and reacts with her emotions and empathy. Sophie shares her feelings with a shy boy. As children affected by autism often have difficulty  understanding and showing emotions, by engaging young children on the autism spectrum, the book encourages children to connect with people and animals.  Research currently being done with early intervention strategies for autism are finding significant improvement for these young children. The book Sophie Finds a Friend was created to assist in these strategies. Written and Illustrated by Jan Murry Lopez.
