B.E.S.T Service Dogs proudly supports Paws for Purple Hearts, a service dog organization that provides a Canine-Assisted Warrior Therapy program. This program is a unique way to help active duty warriors and veterans that suffer from trauma. Participants care for and train future service dogs for veterans and service members with challenges.
Paws for Purple Hearts has chosen two additional pups in 2018 and 2 in 2022 from our breeding program and they are currently working with veterans in their training roles. Once trained, our dogs could be placed as:
We train "owner-trained" service dogs at local VFW post 5358 in Sacramento where combat veterans learn to train their own dogs as service dog partners and the training is free to the veteran. Having a "battle buddy" means the world to these veterans! |
