The Rancho - 4310 Hussey Dr. Carmichael, CA It was a wild and crazy time around here for the last few months! With Joy's litter of 10 and Raven's litter of 6, we had more puppies than ever!
All the pups have found forever homes (except one that we will advertise soon). This time around 7 puppies are in training as service dogs! It was a very strange time of the year as our service dog partners weren't accepting new puppies just now. But we managed to find new owners that want to have their puppies trained as a service dog partners. Now we have Owner Trained Service Dogs (OTSD). A very good (although long and focused period of commitment) way for our puppies to get into service. As Jeremy Ryder, National Program Coordinator at Paws for Purple Hearts said, ..."You are sending very special little fluffy beacons of light into the world!" We donated two pups to Paws for Purple Hearts this time around and one is going to Detroit Michigan to start training and the other to Virginia! We also have a pup in Denver and another owner- trained service dog puppy in New York! Stay tuned here and on Facebook for pupdates as they grow. Save the Date - Our 2nd annual Art Show at the Rancho is coming up September 25th. More info to come! Ravenheart and Tucker puppies are just about ready for new homes! We are still looking for the perfect place for them. If you or someone you know is looking for the B.E.S.T. bred Labrador puppies, full of life, love and sweetness, look no more! Here is the collection of the sweetest pups ever. Please contact us at bestservicedogs@gmail.com for an application today!
We have 2 boys right now, with one going home on the weekend. We will down to one and I hope his forever home is coming soon. He is Blue collar boy and super ADORABLE. One of my favorites! Who ever gets Blue will get a real treasure!
With a litter of 10, you sure notice when they all start to leave! Three have found jobs as service dogs and will be in training for a child with autism and a young adult with autoimmune difficulties and PTSD. One will be trained to be a balance dog for an older gentleman who has trained his service dogs in the past.
I am excited to watch them as they train, grow and be of service. The rest of the litter has found really great family homes! Here are some pictures of puppies that are still here looking for their forever homes. Message me at bestservicedogs@gmail.com if you know of someone looking for a great healthy pup. We were so lucky to find that our sweet Joy was pregnant with her 1st litter. 10 beautiful healthy puppies! They are growing fast and will soon be ready to start their new journeys. Temperament testing showed us that 4-5 puppies are potential service dog candidates, and 2 will be on their way as owner-trained (or service dog trainer trained) service dogs!
B.E.S.T. Service Dogs is looking for volunteers! We currently have a litter of 10 pups and we will be adding a new litter from Raven in May! That's a lot of puppies!
What with the raising of the litters and the care of the big dogs, there are lots of opportunities to be involved in B.E.S.T. Service Dogs! Here is what we are looking for if you are local to the Sacramento area. Volunteer opportunities include: o Dog walking and playing o Cleaning kennels and common areas o Carpentry and landscaping o Office support o Social media postings o Photographers o Grant writers o Puppy petters Thank you for considering the donation of your time and talents to B.E.S.T. Service Dogs! You can help our organization support families affected by autism and our veterans with PTSD!! With your help we can change someone’s world with just one dog! Joy was scheduled for a c-section on Wednesday the 13th of April. Because of the size of the litter (11+ in the xray) I had decided it would be the safest way to go. Also because Joy had never had a litter before.
Well at 11 pm the night before, Joy decides to go into labor and all my helpers weren't coming until Wed/Thursday! I quickly texted those who I thought would be up and that were close. I did get 2 friends to come over that late and wow! so glad that I did! Joy delivered 5 pups in an hour! on my bed! When all was said and done, we had 10 healthy beautiful pups. No losses, as the xray count had been wrong. She was amazing and wasn't even worried at all. She slept through most of the labor. We are so happy and thrilled with this litter and hope all will continue to be as special as she is. Here is a pic of her sweet babies. Contact us at bestservicedogs@gmail.com if you are interested in puppy application. Annoucing puppies due! From our boy Casa de Oro's Summer Moon Tucker) and our gir Spirithawks Sing a Joyful Song at Casa de Oro (Joy aka Baby Joy and Joy joy!) Due April 14th or there about. We are over the moon as Joy has grown into being so beautiful as well as having the most sweet disposition. Can't wait to see these babies! More puppies to go into service and help kids on the autism spectrum or our veterans with PTSD! Be a part of B.E.S.T. Service Dogs and our mission and donate today to support the upcoming litter at www.bestservicedogs.org. Thank you all!
